Jae advises on funding, benefit redesign and scheme closure, pensions on redundancy, age discrimination and the full range of technical and commercial pensions issues his clients face.
Jae has particular experience of advising employers and trustees in the banking and FS sector on pensions issues relating to insolvency, restructuring and ring-fencing.
He leads the pensions investment team in Scotland and works with trustee, public sector and corporate clients on complex, high value investments (including derivatives, funds and infrastructure), and has considerable experience in advising clients on pension issues in large-scale M&A and in dealing with the Pensions Regulator and HMRC on regulatory matters, insolvency and disputes.
Jae advises Trustees and employers on schemes of all sizes (with assets from £20m to £5bn +). A member of the Association of Pension Lawyers, he teaches the APL’s introductory course on M&A and is recommended in Chambers as “a very good commercially-focused pensions lawyer”.
